Your film is yours to run. Here's exactly what that means — and the one honest note about AI-generated material every client should read.

The honest note on AI material

Purely machine-generated imagery, on its own, is generally not eligible for copyright. What you commission from Afterama is not that: the finished film is a human-directed, human-edited work — selection, arrangement, sound, grade and composited brand elements — and that finished work is what we assign to you. The raw generated layer underneath, like all such material, stays effectively public-domain.

Portfolio and archive

Founding commissions include a portfolio feature — the film, your brand name and your logo may appear in the Afterama archive on this site and as case-study material. This is acknowledged during commissioning. If your launch is under embargo or the film must stay private, agree it with the director in writing before production.

What we don't license

We don't produce or license films containing copyrighted characters, real people's likenesses without consent, or imitations of other brands.

Plain-language summary, not attorney-reviewed. The formal assignment happens in the commission paperwork; jurisdiction-specific questions (moral rights, broadcast clearances) need owner/legal review.
